The New York Yankees placed star outfielder Aaron Judge on the injured list earlier this week with a toe issue stemming from his great catch in Los Angeles last Saturday.

While the hope is that Judge is back after the minimum injured list stay, ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney is nervous about how Judge will be impacted the rest of the season.

Speaking this week on the 'Brady Farkas Show' on WDEV Radio, Olney said the following (you can hear the full comments below):

"D.J. LeMahieu, his teammate, spoke with reporters about his toe injury last year and how it could be a real big deal....Not only is he going to be on the injured list but you do wonder, going forward, as a hitter, how much that's going to affect him and his performance and maintaining his balance in the box?"

While Olney's questions are valid, the Yankees can ill-afford for him to be hampered with this issue all season. The team is currently 37-28 and has lost three of its last four games. They are batting in an incredibly loaded American League and need Judge at his best if they want to make the postseason, and make a run.

After winning the MVP a season ago, he's hitting .291 this year with 19 homers and 40 RBI. He's added three stolen bases. For his career, he's a .284 hitter with 239 home runs.

Judge signed a massive nine-year, $360 million contract this offseason that will likely keep him in New York for the rest of his career. In addition to the MVP award, Judge has won Rookie of the Year, a home run derby title, three Silver Slugger awards, and is a four-time All-Star selection.

The Yankees will play the Red Sox on Saturday night at 7:35 p.m. ET.
