Toronto Blue Jays Ace Reportedly Won't Need Injured List Trip

In this story:
The Toronto Blue Jays appear to have dodged significant hardship with regards to starting pitcher Kevin Gausman.
The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:
Gausman's (side) next scheduled start has yet to be determined, but he isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Left side discomfort caused Gausman to be scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Diamondbacks, but he seems to have avoided a significant injury. If he progresses well over the next few days, he could be an option to start during next week's series against the Padres, which runs from Tuesday through Thursday.
Not needing a trip to the injured list would be huge for the Jays, who are battling for a playoff berth in a crowded American League.
Gausman has been dominant this season, going 7-5 with a 3.03 ERA. He's also struck out 153 batters, which is the most in the American League.
The 32-year-old is in his 11th year in the big leagues with the Orioles, Braves, Reds, Giants and Blue Jays.
Lifetime, he owns a 83-87 record but he's had winning records each of the last two seasons.
Missing a start on Saturday is a rarity for Gausman, as he's made 31 or more starts in each of the last two seasons.
The Jays enter play on Sunday at 52-41 overall. They are tied with the Diamondbacks, 2-2, at the time of this posting.
Toronto will be off on Monday before hosting the Padres on Tuesday.
