Atlanta Braves Minor League Affiliate Goes Viral with Fred McGriff Hall of Fame Tribute

The Gwinnett Stripers sent a tribute video out to Hall of Famer Fred McGriff in hilarious fashion.

On Sunday afternoon in Cooperstown, N.Y., former first baseman Fred McGriff was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

All in all, McGriff spent 19 years in the big leagues with the Blue Jays, Padres, Braves, Rays, Cubs, and Dodgers.

He was a five-time All-Star and a three-time Silver Slugger winner who hit 493 career homers and had a lifetime batting average of .284. He also won the MVP of the All-Star Game.

He debuted with the Blue Jays in 1986 and received MVP votes in three different seasons in Toronto. He also led the league in home runs in 1989 when he hit 36. He helped lead Toronto the ALCS in that season and eventually won the World Series with the Braves in 1995, when they beat the Cleveland franchise.

In honor of McGriff's time with the Braves, one of the Braves' minor league affiliates, the Gwinnett Stripers, put out a hilarious re-enactment video of something else that McGriff is known for: The Tom Emanski skills video.

You can see the original below, in all of its corny glory.

And here's the Stripers' remake, which is absolutely perfect in every way:

I give it a 10/10 in terms of accuracy and give them a lot of credit for pulling it off. Well done.

In addition to McGriff, longtime third baseman Scott Rolen was also inducted into the Hall of Fame. You can read up on his induction here, and take a look at next year's Hall of Fame candidates here.
