New York Mets starting pitcher Kodai Senga has the most unhittable pitch in all of baseball, according to statistics.

The Japanese hurler came to the United States this year with his incredible splitter, or "ghost fork."

Sarah Langs of MLB.com discusses how good that pitch has been for New York this season.

Kodai Senga has now thrown 166 ghost forks this season

ZERO hard-hit batted balls on it

that is by FAR the most pitches of a specific type thrown so far this year without allowing a hard-hit ball

Luis García’s slider is next, at 113

Senga went six innings on Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Rays. He surrendered just three hits and one earned run and had 12 strikeouts. He received a no-decision.

For the season, he is 4-2 with a 3.77 ERA. He's now struck out 55 in 43 innings. He has a 1.44 WHIP.

The 30-year-old was signed to a five-year, $75 million contract this offseason after a decorated career in Japan.

He played 11 seasons in the NPB and had a 2.59 ERA lifetime. He also won five Japan Series titles in Japan and was a three-time All-Star. He also helped Team Japan win an Olympic gold medal in Tokyo in 2021.

He did not represent Japan in the World Baseball Classic this year, which Japan went onto win. You have to wonder how much better the team would have been had it had him in addition to Shoehi Ohtani, Yu Darvish, Lars Nootbaar and Masataka Yoshida.

The Mets will host the Rays again on Thursday at 1:10 p.m. ET.
