Arizona Diamondbacks star rookie Corbin Carroll was named to the All-Star Game this week and clearly it's a big honor for him to represent the National League.

The game is being played at T-Mobile Park in Seattle (July 11), which is where Carroll grew up.

He posted a message on social media that is sure to make you smile:

Thank you everyone who voted to make a dream come true! Being able to play my first All-Star game in my hometown is going to be a memory of a lifetime. SEA you soon, Seattle!

You just like to see things work out for people sometimes. I'm sure the stands will be flooded with hometown friends and family there to support Carroll, who is likely to win the National League Rookie of the Year and will be in the running for the MVP award as well.

Though he's currently battling a shoulder issue, Carroll has been an offensive force the surprising Diamondbacks this year. He's hitting .290 with a .366 on-base percentage through 79 games this season. He's showed a great power-speed combo, hitting 17 homers and bringing in 44 runs while stealing 24 bases.

He was a first-round draft pick of the Diamondbacks in the 2019 MLB Draft out of Lakeside (WA) High School.

The Diamondbacks are currently 50-34 on the season and are 3.0 games up on the Dodgers in the National League West race.

They'll take on the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday afternoon at 4:07 p.m. ET. Zac Gallen pitches for Arizona against Reid Detmers.
