Atlanta Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr. Turns an Ordinary Walk into an Electric Highlight

Acuna Jr. is must-watch baseball. In addition to a great power-speed combo when it comes to homers and stolen bases, he can turn an ordinary walk into an electric highlight.

In this story:

We've talked a lot about Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. this year.

We've chronicled the quest for history that he's on when it comes to a home run/stolen base combo, and his quest for history in the runs scored department, but in addition to chasing history, he's just fun to watch.

Such was the case on Monday night when Acuna Jr. turned an ordinary walk into an electric highlight.

As the Braves took on the Dodgers, Acuna was on first base. Matt Olson was walked, but because the Dodgers defense was shifted towards second base for Olson, Acuna noted that the left side of the infield was more open.

As a result, when he got to second, he turned on the jets and broke for third base, turning a walk into two bases for himself.

It's a play that we never see -- that we should see more of. If teams are going to shift, they need to get back to their positions appropriately, and if not, people like Acuna can burn you for extra bases.

The Twitter account @PitchingNinja tweeted the video, and you can watch it below:

Acuna is off to an incredible start this season, hitting .342 with 11 home runs, 27 RBI and 19 stolen bases. He also has a .430 on-base percentage.

He won the Rookie of the Year award in 2018, is a three-time All-Star selection, helped the Braves win the World Series in 2021, and has received MVP votes in three different seasons.
