What's a little harmless fun between rivals on social media?

The Baltimore Orioles came back to beat the New York Yankees on Wednesday night by a score of 9-6, and they made sure to let the Yankees know about it on Twitter.

Lets start at the beginning:

The Yankees took an early lead in this game, getting up 2-0 and then eventually getting up 5-1.

The Yankees Twitter account posted a picture of the Yankees scoring runs with the caption "Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play" which is a lyric from a Taylor Swift song.

After the comeback win was complete, the Orioles Twitter account posted pictures of their own runners crossing the plate with the caption "And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate" which is the next lyric in the same Taylor Swift song.

If you're a fan of pop culture, this one probably made you laugh. If not, now you get the references!

Noted baseball personality Jared Carrabis of DraftKings certainly took notice, tweeting: Orioles taking dubs on and off the field.

The Orioles used an eight-run seventh inning to propel the victory on Wednesday and now sit at 32-17 on the season. Baltimore is one of the best young teams in baseball and owns the second-best record in all of baseball.

It's too bad that the team with the best record, Tampa Bay, is also in the American League East.

The O's and Yankees wrap up the series on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. ET.
