Cincinnati Reds Do Something They Haven't Done in Nearly 50 Years on Saturday

In this story:
The Cincinatti Reds lost to the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday by a score of 10-8.
However, in the loss, the Reds did something they haven't done in nearly 50 years.
Marshall Kramsky of WCPO in Cincinnati has the information on Twitter:
"The 9 steals on the day for the #Reds is the most steals Cincy has had in a single game since 1976. @WCPO"

Again, that's no moral victory for a loss, but it's still very impressive. With bigger bases and rules about disengagements and pickoff attempts, baseball wanted to get running back into the game and they've certainly done that.
Jake Fraley stole three bases on the day while Spencer Steer stole two. Jonathan India also stole two bases while Will Benson and Stu Fairchild each stole one.
Kramsky also adds that the Reds are running at a high clip for the entire season, and not just Saturday.
On the season, the #Reds are only one steal short of their total steals last year. 2023 (as of 6/3 - 8th inning): 57 steals 2022 season: 58 steals
At the time of this posting, the Reds are third in baseball in team stolen bases.
With the loss, Cincy is now 26-32 on the year and five games behind the Brewers in the National League Central.
In addition to the loss, the Reds got multiple injury updates on Saturday. They received good news on first baseman Joey Votto, while getting a discouraging update on starting pitcher Nick Lodolo.
The two teams will finish out the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:40 p.m. ET.
