Cincinnati Reds' Prized Prospect Hits First Major League Home Run on Tuesday

In this story:
The Cincinnati Reds came back from a 5-1 deficit to beat the Seattle Mariners 7-6 on Tuesday night.
It was a magical night in many ways, including Reds prized prospect Noelvi Marte hitting his first major league home run.
What a moment for the kid.

Marte hit the home run as part of a two-run sixth inning that saw the Reds chop the deficit from 5-1 to 5-3. The home run came off of Mariners reliever Dominic Leone.
Ironically enough, Marte's first home run came against his former organization. He was developed by the Mariners before being traded at the trade deadline to the Reds in 2022 in the deal that sent Luis Castillo to Seattle.
Marte went 3-for-3 in the win with the homer. He's now hitting .255 with one homer, seven RBI and five stolen bases.
He's the No. 23 prospect overall in baseball. Here's a portion of his MLB.com prospect profile:
There are few prospects with more raw power than Marte, and he’s continuing to learn how to tap into it, with 36 homers over the last two seasons. It shows up more to his pull side as he’s good at barreling the ball out front. He draws walks and keeps his strikeouts to a minimum but can still improve on swing decisions and overall consistency in following his gameplan, though it should be noted he’s always been quite young for his level.
The Reds are now 73-68 on the season and in possession of the third and final wild card spot in the National League.
They'll play the Mariners again on Wednesday night at 6:40 p.m. ET.
