Former All-Star Inks Major League Deal with Milwaukee Brewers

In this story:
The Milwaukee Brewers, desperate for rotation help, are turning to a former All-Star.
The team has inked Julio Teheran to a Major League deal after he opted out of a minor league deal with the Padres on Monday.
The move is necessary because the Brewers are out three starters because of injury. Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley and Eric Lauer are all on the shelf as the Brewers are tied for first place in the National League Central.
Jon Heyman first reported the news, tweeting: "Julio Teheran agrees to Brewers deal."

Teheran has spent part of 11 years in the major leagues, but hasn't appeared in a big league game since 2021, when he started one game for the Tigers.
He hasn't been a consistent member of a rotation since 2019 with the Braves. Teheran was a valuable and durable starter for the Braves for seven years (2013-19), making 30 starts or more in each year. He also threw more than 180 innings in five of those years.
He was named an All-Star in 2014 and 2016 and has five seasons of double-digit wins on his resume.
He owns a lifetime record of 78-77 and an ERA of 3.80 ERA.
The Brewers are currently 25-22, tied with the Pittsburgh Pirates atop of the division. The Cubs are in third place at 20-26, while the Cardinals and Reds are each tied for fourth.
The Brewers host the Houston Astros on Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. ET. Colin Rea gets the start for Milwaukee. He's 0-3 with a 5.52 ERA.
