In this story:

The Los Angeles Angels, fresh off all their pre-trade deadline acquisitions, have dealt left-handed reliever Tucker Davidson to the Kansas City Royals. There was no room for him in the wake of acquiring Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Randal Grichuk and C.J. Cron.

The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

The Angels traded Davidson to the Royals on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.

ANALYSIS
Davidson was designated for assignment by the Angels last Thursday after struggling to a 6.54 ERA through 31.2 innings of long relief. The 27-year-old left-hander will immediately join the Royals' major-league roster as they play out the string on yet another disappointing campaign.

With the Royals sitting at 32-75 and the second-worst team in baseball, it's just about throwing darts at the wall at this point. The team will be willing to take fliers in order to see if they can unlock something.

He's appeared in part of four big league seasons with the Braves and Angels and even threw 2.0 innings in the Braves 2021 World Series against the Houston Astros. That run netted him a World Series ring.

The 27-year-old was drafted in the 19th round of the 2016 draft by the Braves.

The Royals are back in action on Tuesday night. They are at home at Kauffman Stadium against the New York Mets. First pitch is slated for 8:10 p.m. ET as Zack Greinke is opposed by Jose Quintana.

Greinke is 1-11 this season with a 5.49 ERA while Quintana is 0-2 with a 3.27 ERA.
