At 52-102 and with the second-worst record in baseball, Kansas City Royals fans haven't had much to smile about this season.

Perhaps the offseason will be better though, as a production is in the works about Royals legend and Baseball Hall of Famer George Brett.

Earlier this week, the MLB Network PR social media account put out a teaser:

They say that the production is coming in December.

MLB Network Productions have always been fun to watch, including one on the 1990s Braves and on Ken Griffey Jr. and the Mariners, among others.

The best player in Royals history, Brett spent 21 years in the big leagues, all with Kansas City. He was a lifetime .305 hitter with 317 home runs and 1,596 RBI. He was a 13-time All-Star, a three-time batting champion, a three-time Silver Slugger, a Gold Glove winner, an MVP and a World Series (1985) champion.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999.

Not only was he a great hitter, he was also a great character on the field, filled with passion. It's a given that any work on George Brett will include the infamous "pine tar game" against the New York Yankees, which is one of the more iconic scenes in baseball history.

Brett led the league in hits in three separate years, on-base percentage once and slugging percentage three times as well. He also led the league twice in intentional walks.

As for the current Royals, they will take on the Houston Astros again on Saturday.
