Los Angeles Angels Star Shohei Ohtani Hits Ridiculous Double on Monday vs. Houston Astros

In this story:
Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani continues to find ways to impress.
On Monday night against the Houston Astros, Ohtani hit a double on a ball that is usually nothing more than a routine ground ball to the right side.
Noted baseball social media follow @PitchingNinja tweeted a clip of the play and said "how do you get a double on this pitch? And, EV of over 100mph.
How do you get a double on this pitch? 😮

Astros pitcher Hunter Brown threw an offspeed pitch on the outer half of the plate that Ohtani kind of bailed on. If you stop the video at the point of contact, Ohtani's backside is completely towards the first base dugout.
Most hitters will just roll over that pitch, but Ohtani was able to keep his hands back long enough to hit it more up the middle -- and put an exit velocity of more than 100 miles per hour on it. That's just freakish hitting ability and power.
Ohtani is off to a great start for the Angels, who are in second place in the American League West this year. He's hitting .298 with seven home runs and 21 RBI at the plate. He's added five steals while posting a .886 OPS.
Of course, with Ohtani, it doesn't end there. On the mound, he's one of the most dominant pitchers in the game. He's 4-0 for the Halos with a 2.54 ERA. He has 59 strikeouts in just 39 innings.
At the time of this posting, the Astros lead the Angels 4-3 in the top of the fifth.
