According to a report from Craig Mish, Miami Marlins' hitting coach Brant Brown is interviewing with the Seattle Mariners about a possibly more prominent role.

It's interesting on all sides, but a role with the Mariners figures to be appealing. After all, the team has won 88 games or more in each of the last three seasons and appears close to being ready to compete again on a national stage.
The team also boasts several young hitters that maybe Brown is excited to potentially work with including former top prospect Jarred Kelenic, and former Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez.
But on the other side, Seattle is one of the most notoriously difficult places to hit in all of baseball, so it remains to be seen if Brown would be scared off by working in the spacious environment of T-Mobile Park.
As for the Marlins, they are coming off a season in which they made the playoffs by going 84-78. They lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in the first round of the MLB playoffs (wild card round).
The 52-year-old Brown has spent just one year with the Marlins. He previously worked in the Mariners organization at the minor league level. He also played parts of five seasons in the big leagues with the Cubs, Pirates, and Marlins. He was a lifetime .247 hitter who hit 45 career home runs.
