A new baseball card release from Topps shows just how popular Cincinnati Reds' infielder Elly De La Cruz is set to be in 2024.

The MLB "X" account posted a first look at the Series One card design featuring De La Cruz.

While it doesn't mean everything, it means something. The account post a Shohei Ohtani card, or a Julio Rodriguez card, or a Ronald Acuna Jr. card.

De La Cruz came up and made his major league debut last June, taking the league - and it's fans - by storm, and he's prepared to do the same thing in 2024.

Though he finished on a cold note in 2023, his blend of speed, power and throwing strength captivated baseball fans for months and kept the Reds in the playoff race until the last week of the season.

The 21-year-old native of the Dominican Republic hit .235 after his promotion with 13 home runs and 35 stolen bases. If he finds a way to improve his .300 on-base percentage in 2024, he's absolutely a threat to steal 50-60 bases over the course of a full season. He also has 25-30 home run potential.

Along with De La Cruz, the Reds have some of the best, young position player talent in baseball. De La Cruz pairs with Matt McLain, Spencer Steer, Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Noelvi Marte and others to make a fun nucleus.

The Reds are hoping to make the playoffs for the first time since the COVID 2020 season next year.
