New Detroit Tigers' Television Broadcaster Makes Emotional Comments to Local Media

In this story:
On Thursday, the Detroit Tigers hired now-former Chicago White Sox television broadcaster Jason Benetti to be their new television voice.
Speaking to the media for the first time, Benetti made some emotional comments about why he's excited to work for the team - and represent the city.
Per Brad Galli on social media:
Full comment: Tigers TV voice Jason Benetti has cerebral palsy. He said he gets reactions that don't completely represent who he is "as a whole person."
"I think that's how Detroit gets treated," he said. "I don't like seeing people and a whole place get reduced to anything."

Benetti is one of the best broadcasters in the sport, and also handles a robust national workload for Fox Sports.
From the Tigers' release on his hiring:
Benetti, who will be employed by the Tigers, is also one of the few regional broadcasters whose voice extends beyond the city or sport they call home. On the national level he calls games for FOX in several sports, including Major League Baseball, college football, and college basketball games. He’s also one of the radio voices for March Madness on Westwood One and has led the booth for MLB Sunday Leadoff on Peacock.
With time built into his schedule to satisfy national broadcast obligations, Benetti will call a minimum of 127 Tigers games each season.
The Tigers finished second in the American League Central this season and do figure to be an exciting team moving forward. They have young sluggers Riley Torkelson and Riley Greene at the center of an exciting offense, and feature several young pitchers that are fighting to stay healthy and recognize their potential.
