New York Mets pitcher Luis Severino is turning some heads as a result of some social media content that was recently posted by Driveline Baseball, where he's working out this offseason.

You can watch it below:

Severino, who's battled extensive injuries over the last few seasons, looked pretty good while throwing a mix of changeups, cutters and curveballs. The changeup in particular looked very good, getting great run to the arm side. He also was throwing his cutter near 90 mph, which is good for this point in the offseason.

Severino signed a $13 million deal this offseason, which is a good deal for both sides. The Mets, in desperate need of starting pitching, get one with a lot of potential at an affordable rate, while Severino gets a chance to rebuild his career.

He made the All-Star team in the American League in both the 2017 and 2018 seasons and looked like one of the best pitchers in the AL, but then, the injuries struck.

Severino made just three appearances in the 2019 season and then missed the entirety of the COVID 2020 season. He made just four appearances in 2021 before coming back for 19 strong appearances in 2022.

Unfortunately, he started 2023 on the injured list for the Yankees and then never got going. He went just 4-8 with a 6.65 ERA, striking out just 79 batters in 89.1 innings. He had spent his entire career with the Yankees until signing in Queens.

Lifetime, Severino is 54-37 with a 3.79 ERA. He's still just 29 years old.

The Mets finished fourth in the National League East last season.
