ANALYSIS
With his steal Monday, Lindor reached the 20-20 threshold for the third time in his career. The 29-year-old shortstop has heated up of late, going 20-for-55 (.364) with a 1.053 OPS over his last 15 games. Overall, Lindor is slashing .245/.333/.465 with 22 homers, 70 RBI and 74 runs scored across 502 plate appearances this season while going 20-for-22 on stolen base attempts.
To hit the 20-20 mark for the third time signifies how good Lindor has been over his career. In his ninth year in the big leagues with the Guardians and Mets, he's a career .274 hitter with 206 home runs and 651 RBI.
He was a first-round pick of the Guardians back in the 2011 draft.
After the win, the Mets are 54-65. They are winners of two straight and remain ahead of the Washington Nationals for fourth place in the National League East.
The loss dropped the Pirates into a tie for last in the National League Central.
The two teams will play again on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. ET as Bailey Falter (PIT) pitches against David Peterson (NYM).
