New York Yankees Activate Outfielder Harrison Bader From Injured List

In this story:
At a time when the New York Yankees are hurting in the outfield, they are getting some welcome news on Tuesday.
The team has activated outfielder Harrison Bader from the injured list. He has missed the entire season with an oblique injury.
This news is especially welcome since the Yankees are already dealing with injuries in the outfield. Both Aaron Judge (hip) and Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) are on the injured list. Judge recently underwent an MRI.
Acquired in a trade last season with the St. Louis Cardinals, Bader is a lifetime .245 hitter with 52 homers. He spent the first 6.5 years of his career in St. Louis. He played just 14 games with the Yankees last year as he was acquired while injured. Once he played in the Bronx, he hit .217 with nine RBI. He also played in the playoffs for New York, hitting .257 in the ALDS against Cleveland and .400 in the ALCS against Houston.
He had five total home runs during the playoffs last year.

Bader is known as an excellent defender and comes with playoff experience in each year of 2019-2022, so he brings value to the Yankees on multiple fronts.
In a corresponding move, the Yankees sent former Padres, Royals and Red Sox outfielder Franchy Cordero to Triple-A.
Bader is a free agent at the end of the season so how he plays for the Yankees will have significant impact on his earning potential moving forward.
MLBTradeRumors lists, him, Cody Bellinger and Enrique Hernandez as the top outfield options on the market next offseason.
The Yankees play the Cleveland Guardians tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET.
