On Friday, March 13, Team Canada squared off against the USA in the World Baseball Classic, falling in a close-knit affair, 5-3. Although it was a loss, countless players looked really good for Canada, with Matt Wilkinson being one of the shining stars.

The Guardians coaching staff has been impressed with infield prospect Travis Bazzana. Recently manager Stephen Vogt praised his home run power in his WBC debut. Hitting coach Grank Fink also gave him his flowers on his ability to step up in big moments.

On Thursday, March 26, Cleveland will kickstart the new season with a road series against the Seattle Mariners, before traveling south to face the two-time defending champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers and then return home to face the Chicago Cubs.
