Seattle Mariners Victory Dance Featured in MLB The Show '23

The popular Mariners celebration makes appearance in video game series.

The Seattle Mariners popular end of game celebration is making an appearance in the 2023 version of MLB The Show.

After winning 90 games in 2022, the M's did a lot of dancing at the end of games. They did a few more dances in the playoffs as well, sweeping the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Wild Card Series.

While Mariners fans will certainly love the opportunity to see the new feature in the 2023 video game, one has to wonder if the real Mariners will keep the celebration this season. Teams often will treat one season as its own entity and will come up with something new for the new season. Also, now-departed first baseman Carlos Santana came up with the celebration in the first place last year, so will they bring it back considering he is gone?

If they do, they should have more chances to celebrate in 2023, as the Mariners should be armed for another playoff run this season. The M's got better on paper this offseason, adding slugging OF Teoscar Hernandez in a deal with the Blue Jays. They also added veteran second baseman Kolten Wong in a deal with the Brewers, and will get full-year contributions from ace pitcher Luis Castillo and last year's breakout rookie, George Kirby.

And don't forget, last year's Rookie of the Year in the AL, Julio Rodriguez, will be a better version of himself in 2023 as well. He looks to build upon a season in which he hit .284 with 28 homers and 75 RBIs. He also stole 25 bases and could do more damage on the basepaths this year with the new MLB rule changes.

The Mariners open up the season on Thursday at T-Mobile Park. They'll take on the Cleveland Guardians at 7:10 PST.

The new MLB The Show video game gets released March 28th.
