St. Louis Cardinals' Willson Contreras Gets Warm Reception in Return to Wrigley Field

In this story:
Who says you can't go home again?
That certainly was the case on Monday night in Chicago as current St. Louis Cardinals player and former Cubs player Willson Contreras returned to Wrigley Field for the first time since signing with the Cardinals in the offseason.
Contreras, who spent seven seasons with the Cubs and helped them win the 2016 World Series, got a nice ovation before the game from the Cubs faithful. You can watch it below.

There was a smattering of boos but despite the intense rivalry between the two teams, it was nice to see the fans act with such class.
Contreras signed a four-year, $87.5 million deal in St. Louis this offseason and is out to a .265 start with two home runs and 14 RBI.
He's recently been in the news because of the Cardinals' questionable decision to stop using him at catcher for a while.
For his career, he's a .257 hitter with 119 home runs and 379 RBI.
While Contreras has performed well in the early going, the Cardinals have not. They entered play on Monday at 11-24 and with the fewest wins in the National League.
The Cubs entered play at 17-17 and 2.5 out of first place in the National League Central.
At the time of this posting, the Cardinals lead 1-0 in the top of the second inning. Contreras is 1-1 at the plate and has scored the game's only run.
The two teams will play on Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. ET.
