Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia powered the Rangers to another victory on Sunday, going 3-5 with a grand slam and five RBI against the Oakland Athletics.

With the win, the Rangers are now 25-15 and remain in first place in the American League West. The are four games ahead of the Astros, 4.5 ahead of the Angels, 5.0 ahead of the Mariners and 17.0 ahead of Oakland.

Garcia's strong performance earned him a spot in Rangers' lore, as he's doing things offensively not done in more than a decade.

Per @ESPNStatsInfo on Twitter:

"Adolis García has an MLB-high 42 RBI this season. He's the first Rangers player with 40+ RBI within his first 40 games of a season since Josh Hamilton in 2012."

This great performance is actually the second great performance of the year for Garcia against Oakland. He made history against Oakland back in April.

For the season, Garcia is hitting .255 with 10 home runs and the 42 RBIs. He's added three steals and has an OPS of .815.

For his career, he's a .244 hitter with 68 homers. He made his major league debut in 2018 with the Cardinals but first appeared with the Rangers during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.

The Rangers are seeking their first playoff berth since 2016 and are expected to get back start shortstop Corey Seager early in the week, which should continue to buoy their offense.

Texas will host the Atlanta Braves on Monday at 8:05 p.m. ET. The Braves are in first place in the National League East.
