Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Continues to Climb a Prestigious List with Massive HR on Wednesday

The Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday afternoon, 6-1, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a massive home run that continues to move up a prestigious list filled with current sluggers.

The Toronto Blue Jays fell in extra-innings on Wednesday, losing to the Seattle Mariners, 6-1, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr. still found a way to move up a prestigious list in recent baseball history.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com on social media:

114.3 mph
459 ft

Vlad's 11th HR at 110+ mph and 450+ ft

only players with MORE since start of 2019: Ronald Acuña Jr (19), Pete Alonso (14), C.J. Cron (14), Shohei Ohtani (13), Aaron Judge (12)

Guerrero Jr.'s seventh-inning blast tied the game 1-1 and spoiled an otherwise awesome effort from Mariners' pitcher Logan Gilbert, who went 7.2 strong innings in the no-decision.

The loss dropped the Jays to 6-7 on the year but they still did take two-of-three from the reeling Mariners. Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-4 in the loss and is hitting just .200 in the early-going. The slugger is looking for a bounceback year this year after hitting just .264 a season ago.

The 25-year-old is a lifetime .278 hitter with 133 homers.

He is a multi-time All-Star, a Home Run Derby champion and a guy who hit 48 homers back in 2021.

The Blue Jays will enjoy an off-day on Thursday before beginning a new series at home on Friday against the Colorado Rockies. Colorado, who is projected to finish last in the National League West, is already out to a 3-10 start.

First pitch on Friday will come at 7:07 p.m. ET as Ryan Feltner (0-1, 3.27 ERA) pitches for Colorado. Kevin Gausman (0-1, 9.53) pitches for Toronto.
