WATCH: Aroldis Chapman Hits 104 MPH vs. Blue Jays

In this story:
Kansas City Royals reliever Aroldis Chapman still possesses one of the best fastballs in the game, and he proved that on Tuesday night, hitting 103, 104 and 103 MPH in at-bat against Bo Bichette of the Toronto Blue Jays.

The first pitch came in at 103 mph and was on the outside corner. Bichette fouled it off towards the first base dugout. The second pitch was 104 mph on the inner-half of the plate and Bichette fouled it off into the bleachers along the first base side. The final offering was 103 mph and Bichette woefully waved at it for strike three.
Chapman signed a one-year, $3.75 million contract with the Royals in the offseason after spending seven years with the Yankees. He previously spent six years with the Reds and spent time in 2016 with the Cubs, helping them win the World Series that year.
In 668 career games, Chapman has an ERA of 2.47. He has 315 career saves.
In the game on Tuesday, the Royals lost the Jays, 4-1. The loss dropped Kansas City to 1-4 and moved the Jays to 2-3. Yusei Kikuchi got the win for Toronto, going five innings and surrendering one earned run. The big blow for the Blue Jays in the win came on a solo homer from Daulton Varsho in the sixth inning.
It was his first home run for Toronto after being acquired from the Diamondbacks this offseason.
The two teams will play again on Wednesday at 7:40 p.m. ET. That's the latest game on the Wednesday MLB slate.
