Poirier and Gaethje fought once before at UFC on Fox 29. The fight was an instant classic. The momentum rocked between both men, with Poirier hurting Gaethje, and vise versa.

Ultimately, Poirier's slick boxing proved too much for Gaethje, who at the time, still relied on his rudimentary 'take a hit to get a hit' style of fighting in order to wear on his opponents.

It's a rematch five years in the making, both men have improved leaps and bounds, fight fans are blessed to see the rematch between two of the most exciting fighters on the roster.
