MMAKnockout have reached out to Garbrandt's management team for any information regarding his injury, and will update this space with any developments.

For now, the UFC have confirmed that they are looking for a replacement opponent for Bautista, which is a tall-order on a week's notice. Bautista has been stunning spectators in his recent UFC performances, stringing together an impressive four-fight win streak, with three first-round finishes.

In terms of potential matchups --- if the UFC doesn't sign regional talent on a week's notice --- fighters like Davey Grant, Daniel Marcos, Victor Henry, or Montel Jackson come to mind.

For now, UFC 292 will have to roll ahead without one of its most engaging matchups. Ex-bantamweight champ Garbrandt vs. newcomer Bautista was meant to be do-or-die for "No Love" as he looks to recoup after a skid of devastating knockout losses.

For the time being, Garbrandt will have to compete with time and injuries as he simply looks to secure another fight.
