The WBC junior welterweight title showdown between champion Regis Prograis and Danielito Zorrilla has come to a close.
The championship clash was held in New Orleans, Louisiana. The venue was the Smoothie King Center. Prograis was the hometown favorite.
Going into the fight, Prograis had a four-fight winning streak. Along the way, he captured the WBC junior welterweight title. He was hoping to make his first title defense a successful one.

Meanwhile for Zorrilla, he defeated Aristides Quintero via TKO just three months ago. That was his rebound fight, as he was beaten by Arnold Barboza in their WBO Inter-Continental Junior Welterweight Championship bout. A win over Prograis would've been the biggest of Zorrilla's pro boxing career.
Near the end of the opening round, Zorrilla caught Prograis with a straight right hand. Prograis grabbed onto his opponent to try to prevent himself from falling to the canvas off the punch. Replays showed this should've been scored a knockdown, but the referee ruled it a push.
