WWE News: Another Major Superstar Will Miss WrestleMania 40 Due To Injury

A key WWE superstar will miss WrestleMania 40.

Unfortunately, another WWE superstar has gone down with an injury and will miss WrestleMania 40.

For years, WWE has warned its fans to not attempt to execute the moves performed on TV. It's for good reason as well, since even the professionals aren't immune from serious injuries. More recently, Charlotte Flair, one of the top WWE superstars today, suffered a torn ACL before WrestleMania season could get underway.

CM Punk was well on his way to a huge match for the "Showcase of the Immortals," but he suffered a torn triceps injury. He will not be wrestling during WWE's biggest show of the year either.

Now, a member of the WWE SmackDown roster will also be forced to miss "The Grandest Stage of Them All" this year.

After suffering an injury during a WWE NXT taping for her women's title match against champion Lyra Valkyria, Shotzi has revealed the details and it's bad news for fans. The former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion has revealed that she has suffered a torn ACL and will be out of action for several months.

Here is Shotzi's statement posted on Instagram:

"I tore my ACL which means I will be out of action for about 9 months. Thank you to everyone who has checked up on me. l am so sorry if I haven't responded. I am just extremely devastated and angry. Some of you know, I have been through a lot the last few years and It has been so hard to keep up with what I think is expected of me and honestly my mental health had been at an all-time low.

"But I've pushed through and I was feeling motivated and like myself again. I was hoping to go to NXT to prove myself again, earn some respect, build back my confidence and start putting the heartache from the past 2 years behind me. I feel defeated right now but I'm simultaneously feeling the most motivated I have ever been. I have been through way worse. I've watched my sister, who Is fighting cancer, fight tougher battles. I'm just taking this as a sign to slow down. I didn’t take time off when both my stepdad and my dad passed and that really affected me. Now I am looking forward to coming back not just physically stronger, but mentally also."

Despite the circumstance, Shotzi appears to be in good spirits and is ready to tackle the recovery process. When she is ready to step back inside the ring, the WWE Universe will be waiting for the "Taking Care of Business" tank.

We wish Shotzi all the best in her recovery journey.
