The rumor mill was stirred by posts that said Usman and Gaethje had an interaction after a slam. Fans interpreted that Gaethje had asked Usman if he was alright, and Usman as saying "No, something popped."

Not only did Gaethje deny this claim, but Usman himself took to YouTube on October 19 to debunk it once and for all:

"It just goes to show how crazy - people just jump on news and media," Usman spoke with an eerie voice. "And 'Oh that must be true, that person said that, and that person said that!'

"Whoever started that... How could you have possibly heard what I said, when it's me and Justin on a stage in front of thousands of people in a mall? Were you next to us [where] you would hear what I was saying? How stupid --- Just dumb.

"And if my knee was hurt why would I get up and [continue to hit] mitts? Oh my God. People believe anything you put on the internet. ...Stop with the clickbait... Clearly I'm fine - dummies."

Whether or not Usman is injured, both he and Gaethje have vehemently denied the rumors. Fans will have to take Usman's word for it entering UFC 294.
