UFC 300 Results: Kayla Harrison Submits Ex-Champ Holly Holm at UFC 300

The two-time Olympic gold medalist has officially arrived in the UFC.

Kayla Harrison put on one of the most impressive debut performances in UFC history when she defeated former bantamweight queen Holly Holm on the prelims of UFC 300.

Of all the fighters scheduled to compete at UFC 300, perhaps no one faced as much pressure and scrutiny as the two-time Olympic gold medalist and former PFL champion.

Harrison cleared her first major hurdle the day before UFC 300 when she stepped on the scale to successfully hit the bantamweight limit for the first time, and on fight night the 33-year-old put on a dominant grappling display before she forced Holm to tap to a rear naked choke in the second round.

Besting a former UFC champion was a tremendous way for Harrison to make her UFC debut, and she further distanced herself from the upset loss she suffered to Larissa Pacheco in the 2024 PFL Championships after she'd beaten Pacheco in their previous two meetings.

Following her second-round victory, Harrison made it clear in her post-fight interview that she was open to fighting any of the UFC's top bantamweights and intends to claim the division's title by the end of the year.

Raquel Pennington won the vacant women's bantamweight belt at UFC 297 following the retirement of two-division champion Amanda Nunes, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the UFC put Harrison straight into a title fight after her dominant performance against Holm.
