MMA News: Fighter Channels Ex-UFC Champion With Vicious Slam KO

LXF fighter goes on a Rampage.

Ferrin Marcelin went from fighting off a submission to celebrating a huge victory all within the first minute of his bout at Lights Out Xtreme Fighting 15.

Fighting out of Fontana, California, Marcelin made his LXF debut last weekend when he took on Yannick Krähenbühl in a featherweight matchup.

Krähenbühl joined LXF late last year and suffered a decision loss to Elvis Shakhbazyan, and at LXF 15 it looked like the 25-year-old was poised to secure the first submission of his pro career before Marcelin brutally slammed him to the mat (clip courtesy of the one and only @Grabaka_Hitman).

The violent impact forced a clearly rattled Krähenbühl to abandon his triangle choke attempt, and Mercelin quickly rained down punches to finish the fight in just 43 seconds.

As mentioned by the LXF commentary team, the slam was strongly reminiscent of when Quinton “Rampage” Jackson finished Ricardo Arona with a slam in PRIDE before Jackson later went on to compete for the UFC and win the promotion’s light heavyweight title.

The brutal finish put Mercelin back in the win column after he was stopped by Bryen Dao last year, and it was also the first knockout that he’s scored since he won his third amateur bout with a 51-second finish back in 2019.
