NIL and the transfer portal have changed college sports forever. Now, with this form of free agency, student-athletes have the power to field transfer offers to find the best situation for themselves on and off the field.

This week, FOX college football analyst Brock Huard shared on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk, that Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward is fielding multiple NIL offers from other schools, yet he hasn't even entered the transfer portal.

“Let’s just say I heard from one source, and a pretty dialed in one, that Cam Ward has 10 seven-figure deals waiting for him," Huard shared. "He has 10 different deals from around the country that will pay him seven figures to come be their quarterback.”

The portal doesn't open until December 4 and this is happening not just with Ward, but with players throughout the country. A junior, he passed for 3,732 yards, 25 touchdowns, seven interceptions and had a 66.7% completion percentage this season.

Blue Blood Bias reports that Miami, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Washington and Auburn are among the schools already reaching out for Ward's services.

Huard went on to say, “This is what just drives these guys crazy: ‘OK, have the portal open on Monday, let’s make this all a fair game. Oh no, no, no – all the agents and the runners and the money guys are already out there. How ludicrous is college football right now?”

The Cougars lost the Apple Cup to Washington to finish their season 5-7. With all but Washington State and Oregon State leaving the conference for the Big Ten or Big 12 next season, it puts the Cougars in a challenging spot to retain their current roster and bring in greater talent via the transfer portal.
