College Football 25 Announces 10,000-Plus Athletes Are in Game

Football players from across the country have opted-in to new video game

EA Sports has confirmed that College Football 25 will be released in the summer of 2024. All players at 134 FBS programs are able to be included in the game and will be compensated $600 and a copy of the game.

This allows for some of the biggest names in college football to opt in and also be paid to play as themselves in a video game, something they likely always wanted.

According to EASportsCollege on X, 10,000-plus athletes have already been confirmed to be in the game.

ESPN reports that they reached 10,000 opt-ins by Friday night, just eight days after opening the process to players at all FBS programs.

"The response to the athlete opt-in opportunity for EA Sports College Football 25 has been phenomenal," Daryl Holt, senior vice president of EA Sport says.

Freshmen will also be able to opt in but must be enrolled in the school before they're able to.

Some of the top names in college football have opted into College Football 25. That list included Travis Hunter, Quinn Ewers, Will Johnson, Donovan Edwards, Denzel Burke, and others.

It's been a long time coming for a college football game to return, making this one of the biggest video game releases of all time.

The older games were a joy for gamers and with all of the exciting new features in college football, it should only be better.

It's uncertain how the transfer portal and NIL deals will play a factor in the game, but it's a must if EA Sports wants to make it as real as possible.
