Ohio State Quarterback Trolls Michigan With Dr. Pepper Ad

Kyle McCord adds fuel to the fire ahead of rivalry matchup

The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 3 Michigan Wolverines face off Saturday in a massive showdown between the undefeated top-5 teams. Ahead of the rivarly, Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord added even more fuel to the fire with a trolling Dr. Pepper ad as part of his NIL deal with the soft drink company.

With the recent sign-stealing allegations surrounding Michigan - and Jim Harbaugh serving a suspension for it - McCord filmed a Dr. Pepper ad and posted a caption on Instagram: "At least @drpepper can always be trusted."

Like with all Ohio State marketing materials ahead of their rivalry game versus Michigan, all M's in ad have been replaced with red X's.

McCord and everyone knows how big this rivalry is, and there's a chance the winner ends up in the College Football Playoff with the loser on the outside looking in.

Recently, McCord touched on the rivalry details, per Pete Nakos of On3: “I think we knew how much the rivalry meant in high school. But then I think once you get to college, I think that’s when you really realize how important it is.”

McCord won the starting quarterback job over Devin Brown and has thrown for 2,899 yards with 22 touchdowns and just four interceptions. If Ohio State wants to defeat Michigan, they need a massive game from the junior signal-caller.

As if this rivalry needed more eyeballs, McCord's NIL ad with Dr. Pepper is perfectly-timed.

Ohio State visits Michigan Saturday at noon ET on FOX.
