Ohio State Legend Stroud Makes Huge Donation To THE Foundation NIL Collective

Former Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud becomes platinum donor to NIL collective

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ NIL collective just got its first donation from a former great - quarterback C.J. Stroud.

The Houston Texans rookie just wrapped up his season as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional playoff game on Sunday. Shortly after the season wrapped, THE Foundation announced that Stroud was set to become a major donor.

The collective, run in part by former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones, announced via social media that Stroud was now a “Platinum Donor” in the Founders Club.

To be a Platinum donor, one must donate between $50,000 and $100,000, per THE Collective’s web site.

Among the notable things that Stroud gets as a Platinum donor is an autographed football from either Jones or another former Buckeyes quarterback, J.T. Barrett.

Not that Stroud needs that kind of access these days. He can go wherever he wants in Columbus. But his donation will help fund NIL efforts for current student-athletes.

He’s coming off a rookie season in which he and the Texans defied all expectations to win the AFC South Division and a playoff game before losing to the Ravens.

Stroud is the presumptive favorite to win NFL Rookie of the Year honors after he threw for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions.

With Ohio State, Stroud won Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Quarterback of the Year two straight seasons, along with being named All-Big Ten First Team quarterback twice.

With the Buckeyes he started 25 games, played in 28 games and threw for 8,123 yards, 85 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He went 21-4 as a starter.
