Oklahoma Collective Sets $2 Million Goal for NIL

Crimson And Cream Collective has ambitious fundraising goal as it prepares to join the SEC

The Oklahoma Sooners are preparing to join the SEC next fall and the program’s official collective is working to make sure the program is prepared to support Name, Image and Likeness activities for its student-athletes.

On Wednesday the Crimson and Cream Collective announced an ambitious campaign called the “$2 Million Membership Challenge.”

The collective is using membership as a carrot to unlock more money for the collective. With a goal of adding 2,000 new subscriptions, the collective says it will unlock a $250,000 contribution for every 250 new membership.

If the collective gets it 2,000 new members, then it will have $2 million in new donations to support NIL activities.

"This is an amazing opportunity for OU fans to directly help support OU student-athletes," said Jason Belzer, CEO of SANIL, the company responsible for operating Crimson and Cream. "Our mission to support our athletes and help them benefit from NIL can't happen without the participation of our great Oklahoma fanbase."

As of Jan. 24, the collective had 270 new members, which unlocked the first $250,000 contribution. Membership start as low as $10.99 per month.

The campaign began on Jan. 18 and will end on March 7. New members will also receive a series of limited-run, collectable window stickers.

The collective supports more than 500 student-athletes across 21 sports, including its three-time defending national champion softball team, which his preparing to start its title defense next month.

The Sooners are wrapping up their final season in the Big 12 Conference. On July 1, the Sooners and the Texas Longhorns will join the SEC.
