Players Health Launches NIL Insurance for Collectives

Leading athlete safety and insurance provider partners with Opendorse to expand into NIL space

With NIL collectives leading the way during the transfer portal athlete "free agency" period, it is only natural that they would look for new ways to protect their financial investments. Enter Players Health - the leading athlete safety and insurance solution provider in sports - who has introduced a first-of-its-kind offering of insurance products, designed to revolutionize the NIL landscape in college sports.

In an effort to safeguard the interests of college athletes and collectives during an unprecedented period, Players Health's new products include NIL contract protection, critical injury protection and the Beta launch of PH Portal.AI, an AI-driven analytics platform.

“Players Health's latest initiative is set to redefine how we approach risk and opportunity in the NIL space,” said Tyrre Burks, CEO of Players Health. “Our unique insurance products are tailored to build a more secure and confident environment for NIL Collectives and athletes alike. This is not just about protection; it's about empowering a new era of collegiate athletics with the stability and foresight they deserve."

The NIL contract protection is tailored specifically for collectives, enhancing donor and brand confidence by managing risks and limiting the collectives’ exposure to transfer portal liabilities.

The critical injury protection is a policy that safeguards the futures of college athletes by providing monetary support - including tuition coverage and NIL contract income - in the event of season-ending or catastrophic injuries.

The PH Portal.AI - an AI-powered predictive analytics platform, a first in the NIL space - is designed to assist collectives and universities in minimizing risks associated with athlete transfers through the portal.

In addition to their new product offering, Players Health announced a multi-year partnership with Opendorse to bring improved financial security and compliance to collegiate sports. This collaboration leverages Players Health's expertise in risk management with Opendorse's market-leading technology and services to offer comprehensive support to NIL collectives.

"Opendorse exists to empower athletes, and this partnership with Players Health takes it to the next level,” said Blake Lawrence, CEO and Cofounder of Opendorse. “By providing innovative solutions in the NIL era, we're enhancing the stability and confidence of athletes and collectives alike."

Players Health and Opendorse officially kicked off their partnership with their first Summit Series - NIL Exchange - taking place today in Orlando. The new meeting will gather industry leaders, athletes, brands and educators to discuss and explore the future of college sports in the NIL era.

Speakers at today's NIL Exchange include Burks, Lawrence, Rob Sine (CEO of Blueprint Sports), Hunter Baddour (President of Tennessee collective, Spyre Sports), Sam Green (NIL content creator), Mit Winter (NIL Attorney at Kennyhertz Perry), Olivia Hancock (Founder of ByUS Media) and Russell White (President of Oncoor Marketing), among others.
