Big Names, Big Scores and Big Money at the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Challenge

This past weekend, April 12-13, the best roughstock riders in the world traveled to West Valley, Utah, to compete for big money. The first annual Rocky Mountain Rodeo Challenge brought much excitement to The Maverik Center as these cowboys took on some of the rankest bucking stock out there. Competing head-to-head for over $50,000 of total prize money, the competition was tough, and scores were high.
Before the rodeo action started, fans got the chance to experience much fun with vendors, dummy roping, a mechanical bull, pony rides, and more! Limited seating and sold-out tickets brought the best of rodeo fans to cheer on the contestants.

Bareback Riding
In the bareback riding, NFR qualifier Jayco Roper took the win. Aboard Bailey Pro Rodeos horse they call Little Bug, Roper was 84.5 points taking home over $5,000.

Saddle Bronc Riding
The leading man showed up to West Valley! Damien Brennan, who is currently No.1 in the PRCA World Standings, won the saddle bronc riding. With a score of 85 points riding Bailey Pro Rodeos Flash, he added another big check to his 2024 season earnings.

Bull Riding
In the bull riding, none other than three-time NFR qualifier Dustin Boquet ended up on top. Riding Silver Creek Pro Rodeos bull, Alter Ego, Boquet was 85 points, topping the competition.

Madison Richmann calls Keenesburg, Colorado home. There you can find her parents, Justin and Shawnda, and her younger brother Rylan. Currently, she is living in Oklahoma while attending Western Oklahoma State College on a rodeo scholarship, and studying agriculture communications, where she will graduate this spring. Madie plans to continue her education and rodeo career when transferring to a university in the fall to work towards her bachelor's degree. As a breakaway roper, Madison is excited for all of the new opportunities that are continually arising for women in the sport of rodeo. Also a barrel racer and team roper, Richmann is very passionate for all things of the western way of life. As an advocate for agriculture, she plans to help educate all, about the importance of the industry. When looking into the future, Madie plans to make a career in journalism and marketing for the western sports and agriculture industries while continuing her rodeo career professionally.
