Stephenville Pro Rodeo Leaderboard is on Fire

Competition is on fire at the Stephenville Pro Rodeo. The athletes are turning in times and scores aiming for a high placing and a check.
Time is running out to qualify in the top 15 of each event in the world standings and earn a spot at the National Finals Rodeo. At the conclusion of the Cowboy Capital Pro Rodeo, only the exclusive Cinch Governor's Cup remains.
Besides the 12 athletes in each of the rodeo events who earned a spot in the Cinch Playoff Finals, this is one of the last chances for the athletes to qualify for the NFR.
There has only been three qualified rides in the Bareback riding. Chad Rutherford, a 2020 NFR qualifier, is on top with an 82-point ride. Tim Murphy with a 81-point ride and Lane McGehee with an 80-point ride are close behind Rutherford.
A 3.9-second time in steer wrestling leads the pack with both Marc Joiner and Tyler Pearson. Currently sitting behind Joiner and Pearson is Justin Shaffer with a 4.3-second go.
The team ropers have been turning up the heat and stopping the clock milli-seconds apart. Not only one, but two teams, turned in a time of 3.9 seconds. Tyler Wade, number four in the heading standings, and his partner, Wesley Thorp, second in the world heeling standings, had a 3.9 second run. Brothers J.C and L.J. Yeahquo may not be sitting in the top-20 in the worlds standings, but they weren’t going to let Wade and Wesley be the only 3.9-second team. Just one-tenth of a second behind is Korbin Rice and Jake South with 4.0 seconds
Walker Rezzonico is leading the saddle bronc riding with an 80-point ride. Ean Price is five points behind Rezzonico with 75-points. Jake Barnes finished third with a 74-point ride.
The battle is on in tie-down roping. Three athletes not only sit on top of the leaderboard in Stephenville, but are also all top 15 in the World Standings. Caleb Smidt is 13th in the World and is currently leading with a 7.8-second run. Second, is Blane Cox, who is number 11 in the world, with an 8.1-second go. Riley Webb, the number one tie-down roper in the world, is sitting third. Webb is over $86,000 ahead of his closest competitor and will earn his second National Finals Rodeo qualification this year.
In the barrels, we have not seen a shift in the leaderboard since the slack was ran on Thursday. Sissy Winn remains in first with a 16.91-second run. Wenda Johnson is second with a 16.93. Summer Kosel is just four-hundredths of a second behind Johnson with a 16.97-second run.
Only two performances remain in Stephenville, TX.

Tim had already established TVR Working Horses but together they grew their program and enjoy raising foals, training colts, barrel racing, team roping and standing their stallions (TVR Eye Needa Corona and CR Baron Bee Joy "Big Sexy") in both Texas and Iowa. They stay busy with the horses, farming alfalfa and raising their baby girl, Texi. Madi has always been passionate about horses, from learning about different bloodlines, breeding the foals themselves to training and competing. She expresses that passion within the articles she writes to open up the world of horses and rodeo to everyone. Twitter-@Madi_Roelofsen Facebook- @TVR Working Horses
