In a city full of stars, it is easy to fade into the background. That was not the case for A.C. Milan, who shined bright during the first leg of the club's preseason tour. Excitement for the upcoming season hit an all-time high when A.C. Milan faced off against Real Madrid in the Rose Bowl last week. 

Soccer fans from all over the world watched as the Serie A squad tested new players, including Tijjani Reijnders. The 25-year-old midfielder signed a five-year contract with A.C. Milan in July and is already contributing on the pitch. FanNation Kicks spoke with Reijnders about his time with the club, performance apparel, and first trip to the United States.

You recently signed a 5-year deal with A.C. Milan. How have your first few weeks with the club been?

"Very good. I've been welcomed very nicely into the group. I've met a lot of nice people, so I'm very happy."

A.C. Milan recently kicked off its preseason U.S. Tour in Los Angeles. What has that experience been like so far?

"It's my first time in the USA, so it's nice. It's also better for me to get to know the boys better. So far, it's been very exciting."

What are your goals for this upcoming season?

"Of course, we want to win prizes here with A.C. Milan. The Champions League and the Italian Cup - they are a high priority."

PUMA sponsors A.C. Milan. How has the transition to PUMA gear been for you?

"Very good. You can see we have some good clothes (gestures toward his shirt). It's very nice, the home and away kit. So far, it has been very good, and I cannot complain."

Do you have a favorite kit?

"I feel the home more because of the historical club colors."

Do you have a favorite boot?

"I wear Mizuno, a Japanese brand. I don't have a contract, so I can wear different brands. So that's a good thing for me."

What is your favorite sneaker to wear off the pitch?

"I think the Air Jordan 4. You can always match it well with your outfit."
