After dealing with injuries over the past few years, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard is enjoying another stellar season. During last night's game against the Houston Rockets, the 7x NBA All-Star scored a career-high 71 points in the winning effort.

Lillard is one of the faces of the adidas basketball roster and made history in his eighth signature basketball shoe - the adidas Dame 8. The 32-year-old has been wearing the model for the better part of two seasons now.

Lillard's bright pink shoes, known as the 'Sakuka' colorway, were inspired by his rap song released in June 2020. The adidas Dame 8 'Sakura' hit shelves two years later, in June 2022, and quickly sold out.

Fans find the exact shoes Lillard wore last night on sneaker resale websites (including Lillard's very own Kicks Crew), or they can shop for other colorways on the adidas website. Below is everything fans need to know about the adidas Dame 8.

A detailed look at Damian Lillard's shoes.

The adidas Dame 8 features a breathable air-mesh upper with textile overlays that lends itself to unique colorways. In addition, the rubber outsole and Bounce Pro midsole are designed specifically for Lillard's lethal combination of speed and precision.

Lillard has played in this eighth signature model for most of the last two seasons, and we are not complaining. But the future of the line may be in doubt as there is still no reporting on a possible ninth signature model.

Late last year, adidas and Lillard teamed up for a budget-friendly shoe called the adidas Dame Certified. However, we are eager to see what's next in the partnership between "Dama Dolla" and the three stripes. Stay locked into FanNation Kicks for all your sneaker news.
