Fernando Tatis Jr. Debuts Air Jordan 1 "Platino" Cleats

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. continues to shine in custom cleats.

The San Diego Padres dropped the first game of their series against the St. Lous Cardinals 6-2 on Monday. Despite the loss, Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. literally shined on the field during the game.

Tatis Jr. hit his third home run of the season to put him at third in MLB in the category. In addition to performing at an MVP level, Tatis Jr. is bringing the heat with his cleats all season long. During yesterday's game, Tatis Jr. wore a custom pair of Air Jordan 1 cleats in the "Platino" colorway.

With the help of custom footwear artists XAMPLE and SURGEON, Tatis Jr. is planning to debut 50 pairs of custom cleat this season. The custom Air Jordan 1 "Platino" was the fifth cleat already worn in the young season.

"Platino" which is defined in the Webster Dictionary as a native platinum with palladium, iridium, and osmium. The shoe will reflect that definition with a platinum look throughout the whole shoe. Tatis Jr.'s footwear may be the only thing on the field that can outshine his play.

The cleats also featured a silhouette of Tatis Jr. from his outstanding catch he made last season when robbed St. Louis Cardinals’ slugger Michael Siani of a home run. The cleat will also feature the logo of the shoe created Xample "X" & "El Nino" on the left and right tongue of the shoes.

Tatis Jr.’s season-long collection all conceptualized by XAMPLE’s CEO & Founder, Nick Drbal, and expertly crafted by SURGEON. It is only the first week of April, and Tatis Jr. is already deep in his bag of stellar plays and fire footwear.
