Ja Morant Tattoos Signature Sneaker Logos On His Back
The basketball world has not heard much from Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant since he began serving his second suspension of the calendar year. However, fans received an update when tattoo artist Andres Ortega shared a detailed look at Morant's new ink.
The impressive work of art includes cards, dice, and two signature Nike sneaker logos. Morant's signature logo appears near his left shoulder. The small of his back features a tribute to Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, including the iconic Sheath logo, "24," and "mentality."
Before Morant's signature sneaker line launched earlier this year, the sneakerhead often played in retro shoes from the Nike Kobe line. There is no denying the impact Bryant had on Morant and much of the NBA. Now it is immortalized on Morant's back.

Just as Bryant's pump-fakes and footwork were unmistakable, so is his signature sneaker logo. Bryant's Nike logo first appeared on the Nike Huarache 2K5. The design comprises six geometric shapes similar to a samurai sword's sheath.
Film fans will recognize the Nike Kobe logo from the 2003 movie Kill Bill: Volume 1. Uma Thurman's character had a similar symbol etched into her sword. It's hard to imagine the movie did not play a role in the design of the iconic sneaker logo.
Morant first teased his signature Nike logo in December 2022, shortly before he debuted the Nike Ja 1 on Christmas Day. The design features the letters "J" and "A" and looks like an upside-down triangle, not that different from Bryant's logo.
