The Seattle Seahawks shocked the Philadelphia Eagles 20-17 on Monday Night Football. It was a tough outing for Jalen Hurts, resulting in a third consecutive loss for the Eagles. The silver lining is the top spot in the NFC Playoffs is still obtainable, and Hurts debuted cleats that all Philly fans can support.

Before the season started, Hurts officially signed with Jordan Brand and has consistently worn retro Air Jordan cleats throughout the season. Since Hurts joined the Jumpman family, the design team has created some incredibly detailed cleats that combine classic silhouettes with colorways that tell meaningful stories.

During last night's game in Seattle, Hurts wore the Air Jordan 11 in a player-exclusive colorway that honored Philadelphia Sports legends. Jordan Brand designer Ryan M. Smith and his team designed cleats to honor the 1899 Frankford Yellow Jackets. Check out Smith's Instagram post below for detailed pictures of the footwear, and be sure to support him with a follow.

Sports fans love a good history lesson, and Jordan Brand gave us one last night. The Frankford Yellow Jackets were a football team established in 1899 that played in the NFL from 1924 to 1931, even winning the 1927 NFL Championship.

After the Yellow Jackets suspended operations, they would later re-emerge as the Eagles. However, their history is not claimed by the Eagles, who are considered a 1933 expansion team for record-keeping purposes. The entire story is fascinating and worth a deep dive for sneakerheads who are also sports history buffs.

Time has a way of losing sports legends, but it is awesome to see Jordan Brand and Hurts paying tribute to an integral part of Philadelphia's history. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com for all your sneaker news from the sports world.
