Nike Gifts Deion Sanders' Retro Cleats to Colorado Buffaloes
Since taking the job as the Colorado Buffaloes head football coach, Deion Sanders has shaken up the NCAA. Now the legendary two-sport phenom is reclaiming his throne in the sports apparel industry with the help of Nike.
Over the past eight months, Sanders has single-handedly elevated the lowly Buffaloes into a national topic of discussion. Yesterday was more evidence of Sanders' star power as he unveiled retro cleats from his former signature footwear line.
Sanders took to Instagram to unveil the retro Nike DT 96 cleat in the "PRIME" colorway. The black and white cleats are nearly exact replicas of the model Sanders wore during his playing days. However, they include special detailing such as his legendary "If you look good, you play good" quote in its entirety on the insoles.
Unfortunately for athletes and fans, the cleats are player-exclusive and will not be released to the public. But the silver lining is there is a wide selection of Colorado Buffaloes gear, including Sanders' "Prime" apparel on Nike's website.
With the college football season kicking off soon, all eyes will be on "Coach Prime." Transforming the Buffaloes from a bottom dweller of college football to a competitor is no small task. Whether you believe in him or not, you can never ignore the outspoken superstar.
