Sneakers are for more than just basketball players. Football players love to rock them with their pregame outfits and sometimes even during the games with the help of customization artists. Of the many sneakerheads in the NFL, one player stands out for his strong footwear rotation.

Long before he started dating Taylor Swift, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was known for wearing rare kicks. However, we have seen Kelce take his sneaker game up several levels throughout this season. A video snippet from Kelce's New Heights podcast shows the Pro Bowl tight end answering questions about his preferred sneakers.

In the video below, Kelce says his favorite pair of sneakers he owns is the Nike Air Mag "Marty McFly." He also provides a very interesting answer to which pair of sneakers he wants to be made into a cleat. Kelce wants to wear Kanye West's (now known as Ye) retro Nike sneakers on the football field.

Kelce told the interviewer, "Since I play for Kansas City, and it's got to be a red or white cleat, I would say the Red October's, man. The original Yeezys, Nike Yeezys on some cleats for me. Let me rock out, man."

This answer tracks as we have seen Kelce rock Kanye's retro sneakers before games last season. However, that was before he began dating Swift, who has been on the receiving end of some of Ye's public antics.

The Nike Air Yeezy 2 'Red October' was released in February 2014 for $250 and now costs upwards of $30,000 on some sneaker resale websites. Last week, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner wore custom Nike Air Yeezy 2 'Red October' cleats during pregame warmups before the NFC Championship Game.

Hopefully, a cleat specialist can help make Kelce's dream a reality. At least let him wear some special custom cleats in Super Bowl LVIII. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com for all your footwear news from the sports world.
