AEW Announces First Time Special Event for October

AEW continues to expand its global footprint. The company has announced that it will hold its first show in a new country later this year.

Over the past several years, AEW has hosted several events outside of the United States. The company has held All In in England, Grand Slam in Mexico, multiple television tapings in the United Kingdom, and both TV shows and pay-per-views in Canada. The company has held two Grand Slam events in Australia as well.

Now, AEW is adding a new country to the list, as the company will host a special event in Europe this fall.

AEW Grand Slam France announced for October 6

AEW announced that it will hold Grand Slam France at Adidas Arena in Paris, France, on Tuesday, October 6. The event will be a taping of both Dynamite and Collision, and it will air on TBS and Max. Adidas Arena has a capacity of 8,000 seats.

“There are so many great wrestling fans in France, and a lot of fans from France have made the trek to London to see AEW, and we believe there’s a lot of excitement around All Elite Wrestling in Paris, and it just felt like this would be the perfect time to launch with a huge event,” AEW CEO Tony Khan told Sports Business Journal.

Khan also said that he is "hopeful AEW can run additional events in France" and “continue to make Paris a major live event site" for the company.

Most recently, AEW held Grand Slam Mexico at Arena Mexico earlier in August, and the event drew over 13,000 fans. The company will head to Europe for television tapings in Glasgow, Scotland, ahead of All In at Wembley Stadium in London on August 25.

France has become a popular destination for wrestling events in recent years; WWE held Backlash in Lyon-Decines in 2024, and the show marked WWE's first Premium Live Event in the country. The company returned to France a year later with Clash in Paris last August. The crowd drew plenty of praise for its remarkable energy, and AEW will surely hope that Grand Slam France will follow suit.

While no matches have been announced for the show yet, it's fair to assume that All In, as well as the All Out event in September, will have significant ramifications for the card. The Takedown on SI will continue to provide more information as it becomes available.
