Thunder Rosa Confirms How Long She'll Work With CMLL

The working relationship between All Elite Wrestling and CMLL has seen many talents sign a dual contract with the promotions. This concept has been implemented for multiple CMLL champions, including Hechicero, Mistico, Mascara Dorada, and Persephone, among others.
And that deal works both ways, with former AEW Women's World Champion Thunder Rosa signing a dual contract to work more in CMLL for the remainder of 2026.
Thunder Rosa working in CMLL
Thunder Rosa made her debut with AEW back in the summer of 2020, officially signing a contract with the promotion in July of the following year. This came after her successful run as the NWA World Women's Champion, a title she would defend on AEW television.

Speaking with The Takedown on SI's Sid Pular III, Thunder Rosa made her aspirations clear to work with CMLL and possibly sign a dual contract.
"Really you gonna ask me that question? Of course I’m interested in something like that. It’s a big deal, it is such a big deal and it’s such an honor when they recognize you to be somebody to be part of their organization. Absolutely, it would be an honor."Thunder Rosa
And now it seems like that dream could become a reality, with Fightful reporting that Rosa is expected to sign a dual contract. She is already scheduled to take part in tomorrow's Arena Coliseo 83rd Anniversary show, teaming with Garra Negra and La Jarochita against Zeuxis, Keyra, and Sanely.
Thunder Rosa herself would also release an article on Record.com.mx, where she would confirm that her work with CMLL isn't just a visit and that she will be working with the promotion for the remainder of 2026 starting on April 3rd.
Could Thunder Rosa be aiming for the CMLL World Women's Championship?
While CMLL has three women's championships, Rosa has a strong connection with the current CMLL World Women's Champion, Persephone. Outside of the similar dual contract situation, some of Persephone's first matches were in Rosa's Mission Pro Wrestling promotion.
The pair have also shared the ring twice, teaming together in Ring of Honor last year, scoring victories both times.

During her talk with The Takedown on SI, Rosa made the point that she knows something between her and Persephone will be special.
"And when the time comes for us to do this, I think it’s gonna be a banger because she’s mouthy, I’m mouthy, We have really good energy, we’re both from the border. She’s from El Paso, I’m from Tijuana, you know, so we both know what’s up."
Time will tell, but a championship match between the two could be big for both names and seems a bit more likely now.
