New Era Of WWE Continues To Take Shape With Big 12 Partnership

In a partnership that was long overdue, WWE is teaming with the Big 12 Conference for the upcoming Dr. Pepper Big 12 Football Championship game on Saturday, December 2.
Considering there have been so many WWE stars who played collegiate football, including top star Roman Reigns, this is a perfect pairing.
The game will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and there is suddenly plenty of reasons for wrestling fans to watch. The game’s Most Outstanding Player will be awarded with a custom-made title belt, which will be presented on-field after the game by a WWE star. A WWE logo will be featured on the field, and WWE talent are expected to participate in Big 12 Conference pre-game events oversee and the game’s official coin toss.
In an official press release, Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark stated: “WWE is a global brand that connects with a wide array of audiences. With this partnership, we will integrate WWE and its brand power into one of the conference’s biggest moments, further strengthening the bridge between sports and entertainment throughout the Big 12.”
WWE President Nick Khan also provided an official statement: “Brett and his team at the Big 12 have turbocharged the conference through innovative media rights deals and commercial partnerships, constantly exploring new ways to grow the conference’s reach and influence. We’re excited to partner with them and help amplify the Big 12 Championship.”
